About the Beneficiary

Noor Bano, a 74-year-old widow, resides in Basti Takia Kale Khan. Despite having two married sons, they have abandoned her, leaving her to fend for herself. Her married daughter occasionally provides food, but it is insufficient to meet her daily needs. Noor suffers from liver problems and cannot afford the necessary operation. She lives in a small rented wooden room with a leaky roof, especially troublesome during the rainy season. Despite her age and illness, Noor does household work to survive. She receives no financial support from her sons, who neither visit nor send money. As her health deteriorates and her ability to work diminishes, Noor desperately needs ration to survive.

About the volunteer

My name is Kaushiki Sharma, an 18-year-old volunteer at Sampark Sathi Foundation and a student of Economics Honours at JDMC, Delhi University. My passion for social work is driven by a strong desire to help others and create a positive impact in my community. Volunteering offers me a chance for personal growth, skill development, and the opportunity to be part of something greater than myself. This is my very first case, and I am grateful for the opportunity to join Sampark Sathi Foundation and embark on this new journey with them.
