Bunty is a 17-year-old boy living with his family in a small jhuggi near Sahabad Dairy, Delhi. His father is an auto driver, and his mother is a housewife. Bunty has two younger siblings—his brother is in 10th standard, and his sister is in 8th standard. Bunty's father is the sole breadwinner for the family, but his earnings are barely enough to meet the basic needs of the family. Despite his best efforts, Bunty’s father struggles to provide for his children's education and other essentials. Bunty, a hardworking and determined young boy, has dreams of completing his studies and supporting his family. However, due to the financial challenges his family faces, they are unable to afford essential school supplies like notebooks, pens, bags, and other educational materials. Bunty’s passion for education is hindered by the lack of resources, and this has become a serious roadblock for his future ambitions.
Priyanka Dhakar, currently pursuing a BA Hons in Political Science at Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, is motivated by the desire to make a meaningful impact on society. Since August 2024, I have been volunteering with Sampark Sathi Foundation, where I am handling my first case involving a 17-year-old boy named Bunty, whose family is struggling financially and unable to meet the basic needs of their children.
