In the crowded streets of Sahabad Dairy, New Delhi, lives a 16-year-old boy named Himanshu. His home is a small, modest space that he shares with his family of five. Himanshu is in the 10th grade, a critical year for any student. His passion for learning is evident in the way he talks about his favorite subjects, his dreams, and how he believes education can change his family’s life. His father works long hours, pedaling a rickshaw through the unforgiving streets of Delhi, earning just enough to provide food and shelter. His mother, once able to scrape together enough money for their basic needs, has had to stop buying Himanshu’s stationery—his pens, notebooks, and registers—because the costs have become too much to bear. Himanshu has two siblings, an elder brother and a younger sister and both also studying. His mother, a housewife, juggles taking care of the family and keeping track of every penny spent. As prices rise and daily expenses become harder to meet, the once manageable task of buying school supplies has now become a luxury. Earlier, his mother used to save small amounts from the household budget to buy the stationery Himanshu needed. A notebook here, a pen there—it wasn’t much, but it was enough to keep his dreams alive. But now, even those small sacrifices seem impossible. Despite the financial challenges, Himanshu’s dedication to his studies remains unshaken. Himanshu’s story is one of quiet resilience. He doesn’t complain, nor does he ask for much. He dreams of a day when he can contribute to the family’s income, making their lives a little bit easier. But right now, all he needs are the tools to continue his education: a few notebooks, some pens, and a register. These basic items, which many take for granted, are all that stand between Himanshu and his dreams. By supporting Himanshu with the stationery he desperately needs, you’re not just giving him paper and pens—you’re giving him the chance to shape his future.
