Neha, a 32-year-old single mother in Burari Kaushik Enclave, lives with her three children, parents, and two younger brothers. Her husband and in-laws have been unsupportive, forcing her to return to her parents' home. Her retired father and her second next married brother, the sole breadwinner, struggle to support the entire family. Neha earns a modest ₹500-1000 through occasional beautician work, but it’s insufficient to meet her children’s needs. Despite securing school admission for her daughter Shivika, she struggles to afford basic stationery. Neha needs financial assistance to support her daughter's education by providing necessary school stationery. The financial strain on the family is immense, making it difficult for Neha to balance her responsibilities as a mother and a caregiver. The lack of consistent income leaves the family vulnerable to any unexpected expenses, which could further jeopardize Shivika's education. Additionally, Neha's younger brothers, still in school themselves, also require support, adding to the family's overall burden.
Myself Sneha, a Sathi is a 3rd-year Political Science student at Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi. I enjoy reading, traveling, photography, and playing sports.
